“**Knowledgeable in Algebra 1033 and Very Patient**”

Hello! I have taught high school and college math since 1992. I've also tutored private students during most of that time. I love to work with students who struggle or don't like math very much. I like to go through things very slowly and not skip steps. I help students build confidence by breaking topics into small sections and rewarding each

*I also have a 5-6 pm opening on Mon and Wed, but I would need to meet the student in Bradenton near Hwy 41 and ST 70.*

I needed help with Algebra 1033. My first lesson with Kate was great. Her thoughts are organized and she knew the material. She was willing to go over each problem until I had a thorough understanding. Thank you.

5 STARS! Very knowledgeable and professional. She have special attention to detail. Highly recommended . We are very grateful of having her working with our daughter.

Kate is an excellent tutor. She was engaging with my daughter, which really impressed us both tremendously, not to mention her knowledge level. Highly recommended.

She has been helping my dyslexic son understand algebra!! Very patient and kind with a learning challenged child. He is now grasping algebra.

Kate breaks everything down to a simplified format. She makes you feel comfortable and not embarrassed about where you stand with your education.

Last Saturday was my daughters first lesson with Kate and I can't even begin to tell you how happy and relieved I am to have found her. She is so patient and encouraging and not once did my daughter feel frustrated or insecure when working with her. Today my daughter came home ecstatic because she received a 95% on a quiz. First A she has earned since the beginning of the year. Kate is a miracle worker. My only regret is that I waited this long before reaching out for help.

I needed a tutor for my Business Calculus course. This class is structured differently than traditional calculus, and with the professor and class structure I had, it seemed as though the odds were mounted against me. Kate was extremely patient and very helpful with helping me nail down the fundamentals of calculus and applying it to this specific course. I have a higher grade in this calculus class than I have had in ANY of my previous math classes. I highly recommend Kate to ANYONE with a weakness in any math course. She sticks with you until you get it! You can tell she cares!

I like how patient she is, I need a lot of help and I can ask Kate the steps needed to understand.

She taught me how to find the equation of a line as well as how to graph points , very good teacher ! She also gives positive feedback , which helps tons. Thanks !

Kate was gracious enough to work with my son on extremely short notice. He had a big test scheduled for the following day and was really struggling with a few sections he was reviewing. After the session, he immediately said how much better he understood the problems they were solving and how much better. He felt about doing better on the upcoming exam. Great help, thank you!

My first lesson with Kate T. was great! Not only is she very patient, she walked me step by step in each math problem. I was so happy that I was able to do the work on the board and she could see my mistakes right away. I'm looking forward to more lessons with her. Thank you Kate T.

Kate helped me some of the steps I was missing for my problems. She also helped me with familiarization of my T83 caculator.

My daughter worked with Kate today on algebra 2 that was not clearly explained by her teacher. Kate was patient and encouraging. My daughter felt much more confident regarding her comprehension of the material after her session. We look forward to more sessions with Kate.

Kate is a GREAT help! Friendly and patient! I would be so lost without her knowledge! I highly recommend!

Kate is currently helping me with introductory Statistics. I've exceed all of my goals and expectations for this class with Kate's help. I highly recommend her for your tutoring needs!

Kate is very smart and a very patient teacher. We look forward to working with her for my son's Sr. year!

My son had one double session with her and she made him feel very comfortable. She's patient and great with kids. I think with her expertise in test taking, she'll really help him to score well.

Thank you Kate.

Kate helped me understand the topics and how to break down the question to get the correct answer. She helped me with my homework and I got help on tonight's assignments. Thank you so much Kate. I look forward to working with you and I appreciate all your time.

She taught me algebra and helped me understand math really well! I'm definitely going to start having her help me whenever I don't understand a problem.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I taught Finite Math for 5 semesters at Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis, Indiana. I was also a tutor in the tutoring lab. I helped students with many courses including Finite Math. I'm currently employed by eMath (makers of math software) to write content for their Finite Math ebook.

I have taught geometry in the classroom for four years. I teach geometry using the classical proof method using constructions. I can tutor students learning by any of the popular teaching methods. For students preparing for standardized exams such as the SAT or ACT, I have a lesson packet to review concepts and formulas in 1-2 hours.

I worked as an essay grader for the College Board for two years. Recently, I completed a section on reading skills and comprehension for my test preparation manual to be published in December 2015. I teach students to successfully answer questions on passage-passed reading, sentence completion, and proof-reading. I use examples and practice questions to help students achieve speed and accuracy.

I have integrated study skills into my tutoring for over 20 years. I teach goal-setting and organization using time management grids. For procrastination problems, I teach the Pomodoro method. I have several solutions for test anxiety including relaxation exercises, self-confidence builders, and practice tests. Other skills I teach include mind-mapping, note-taking, research, organizing information, and memory work.

I have helped several students successfully prepare for the TEAS. Four years ago, I developed a 5-day (35 hours) workshop for students preparing for the TEAS. The workshop covered all parts of the TEAS (reading comprehension, math, science, and grammar). I taught the workshop every month for three years. Currently, I am writing a test preparation manual for the TEAS that is scheduled to be published in April.
