About Richard

Bio

I have been a trainer, teacher, and tutor for much of my lifetime. Training and working with students is my passion. I love seeing the "light bulb" that turns on when a student "gets it"; they understand the concept or technique that I am showing them. I have the patience to work with anyone, and I enjoy having fun with the process.

Although my Master's degrees are in Psychology and Spiritual Science, much of my "real world" experience is in computer software. I have trained literally...

I have been a trainer, teacher, and tutor for much of my lifetime. Training and working with students is my passion. I love seeing the "light bulb" that turns on when a student "gets it"; they understand the concept or technique that I am showing them. I have the patience to work with anyone, and I enjoy having fun with the process.

Although my Master's degrees are in Psychology and Spiritual Science, much of my "real world" experience is in computer software. I have trained literally thousands of students in a corporate environment, on a one-to-one basis as well as in small group classes.

I have trained Microsoft Office applications in a corporate environment for many years. I am very knowledgeable using MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint...and have good knowledge with Access as well.

I was the "concert master" (1st chair) clarinet for the Chicago All City High School Band. I also played in the Michigan State University Concert Band, as well as the University of Chicago Concert Band.

I have played clarinet for over 30 years. I was in the Chicago All-City High School band for three years, serving as concertmaster (principal chair) my senior year. I also was a member of the Michigan State University concert band. I have performed in numerous solo competitions, getting consistent "Superior" ratings. More recently I have played for service projects, playing for people in convalescent and retirement homes. My teaching philosophy is to focus on the specific goals of the student, and to tailor lessons to achieving those goals.

Richard is very professional and quickly identified the areas I need more practice.

I am playing clarinet again - I haven't played since high school. Richard helped me with breathing techniques and gave me exercises to begin as good warm up prior to practicing. He also explained the importance of playing slow at first and then working up speed. It's great to have Richard's expertise and patience!
