Knowledgeable, friendly, and patient tutor and executive functioning coach

We've been working with Candace for weeks now and we've already seen a positive change in our daughter's executive functioning skills -- she is now more organized and responsible with tasks. She also looks forward to completing the checklist Candace created. When it comes to tutoring, our daughter usually gets bored easily but Candace manages to keep her engaged and on task. We appreciate Candace's experience working with children with special needs. She is also very patient and flexible when it comes to our daughter's needs. She is able to transition easily between subjects and helps our daughter understand the "why" behind learning concepts. We've been pleased with her services and would recommend her to other parents looking for an executive functioning coach or reading tutor.

First Lesson on point!

This was our first lesson with Ms. R. and we are very excited to continue with her. She addressed our goals for tutoring, which includes tools for working memory and other ADHD issues with learning math. She was sweet and patient and very understanding. She is very professional and has a calling to teach, and it was obvious she has a lot of experience.

patient and experienced teacher

I reached out to Candace for my kid (5th grader) for help with Language and Arts. To give some background my kid is on IEP and was grade level in Math, but below grade level in Language. Guess this is more common with kids on spectrum. I reached out to Candace, informing my goal was to get him to grade level so he could take California State Assessment. Candace listened to my goals and came up with lesson plans. She initially spent time to gauge his current level and we started to work on reading and writing during our class. She adapts to kids interests and has enough teaching aids to present the concepts visually. Candace has lesson plans (grade level for my kid) Towards the end of every session, we have a 1:1 on progress or course correction if needed. I would recommend Candace for kids looking to improve ELA.

Strong learning strategies plus she's fun!

Candace is exactly who we were looking for. During our initial meeting, she asked about our child's learning history, our concerns, then she assessed our son's current abilities, after which she offered a path forward with grade-appropriate strategies that our kid could build upon. I sincerely appreciated her skill-building approach which will ultimately help our kiddo become successful in the long run. PLUS, she's fun! We looking forward to our meetings with Ms. R!
