Rather than a passing knowledge long enough to take a test, you'll come away knowing more about how databases and SQL works than your peers.
Without going all math on you too soon (wake up!), I will nonetheless give you that deep understanding of how SQL works, so a little later on, you'll see all those theories we bypassed early on, and you'll understand them.
I'm also a big fan of good examples, ones that are easy to visualize and understand, so when you get around to writing your SQL, you'll have a clear vision of how to approach the problem. That helps create a deeper understanding, so when you're faced with a real-world or real-test problem, you'll have that foundation to solve any problem. You'll be thinking like data. I have a Masters from the University of South Florida and a degree in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington.
