I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand finance, especially when a concept finally “clicks.” My goal as a tutor is not just to help students solve problems, but to help them understand the reasoning behind them so they can approach new problems with confidence. I believe finance is much easier to learn when formulas are connected to real business decisions, and I focus on building that intuition alongside the technical skills needed to succeed in class.
I currently serve as a Vice President of Finance for a private equity investment firm, where I work with financial modeling, valuation, budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation, financial statement analysis, and corporate finance on a daily basis. I hold a Master of Science in Financial Analysis and have passed the CFA Level I exam. My professional experience allows me to connect academic concepts to real-world applications, whether we’re discussing discounted cash flow analysis, the cost of capital, financial ratios, or investment decision-making.
In addition to my industry experience, I previously worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Columbia University FinTech Boot Camp, where I supported adult learners in Python, SQL, financial technology, and data analysis. I worked with students one-on-one and in group settings, helping them overcome challenges, answer questions, and build confidence in applying new concepts. While completing my master’s degree, I also tutored finance students one-on-one, helping them strengthen their understanding of corporate finance, investments, and financial analysis. I enjoy adapting my teaching style to each student’s needs and learning pace. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, working through homework, or looking to strengthen your understanding of finance, accounting, Excel, or financial modeling, I look forward to helping you achieve your goals.
