Thank you for your interest in my art tutoring services; I would be most happy to be your personal drawing tutor! As a graduate of Mount Wachusett Community College, you can be confident in my ability to effectively meet your student's tutoring needs. I have a natural-born passion for art, especially for drawing and sculpting. I have also received high quality training by high quality professors- including the internationally recognized Japanese/American commission artist Thomas Matsuda, who specializes in Buddhist sculpture. All of my dedicated art professors encouraged absolute excellence from their students and nothing less, and I have adopted a similar outlook. My method of tutoring mirrors the method which I have been taught; with a bit of constructive critique; as well as lots of encouragement and praise. And of course, it is critical to practice, practice, practice if the student wants to improve. I know by experience that to be an artist is a roller coaster of emotion. Sometimes we feel confident that we can create what we see in our mind's eye; but then again we can also get very frustrated, cry and want to give up. Yes, we artists shed many tears; and it's great to be able to identify with other artists and help them pull through when they are stuck.
I am YOUR tutor. I am willing to work with both individuals and groups. I am available in my home Monday through Friday from 3:00-7:00PM; and on Saturdays from 9Am-12PM and 2PM-6PM. I will travel within Tampa on a limited basis for groups ONLY. In addition to helping students, I will also show parents techniques that I use when necessary so they too can encourage their art student at home. It is great to tutor students and parents as a team, because teamwork and education are extremely important to me.
