With more than two decades of experience teaching Spanish to learners of all ages, I have built a career rooted in a deep love for langiage, culture, and education. My academic foundation bagan at the prestigious Faculty of Arts and Letters in Havana, Cuba, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Art History. This rigorus program strengthed muy command of the Spanish language, my ability to analyze texts, communicate complex ideas clearly, and incorporate cultural and historical context into my teaching approach.
In addition to my university training, I hold two professional certifications that further enhancemy qualifications as a Spanish educator. I am a Certified Medical Interpreter, a credential that demands precise lenguitic accuracuy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to facilitate communication in high-stakes enviroments. I also hold an FCTE (Florida Teacher Certification Examination) certification.
I have over 20 years of teaching experinece, starting in my collage years in Cuba and continuing in both in peron and online settings. I have taught individuals and groups in classroom environments and have adapted my methods to students of all ages, from very young children to elementary, middle, high school, and adult learners.
Over the years, I’ve learned that language growth happens most effectively when lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, so I begin by identifying their strengths, challenges, and learning style.
I believe language is best understood when it is lived through conversation, stories, and meaningful interaction. My lessons combine grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension with real-world application, cultural insights, and opportunities for guided practice. Students describe me as warm, encouraging, and highly organized. I take pride in creating an environment where learners feel confident, supported, and motivated to reach their goals.
