Have you ever felt like you are working way harder than those around you, but still struggle to understand something?

Hi there! My name is Ms. G and I’ve spent the past seven years as an 2nd-5th grade teacher. I am a firm believer that difficulty does not equal inability. Learning isn’t about being “good” or “bad” at a subject — it’s about finding the right way for you to understand it. Growing up, nothing ever made sense to me. It taught me that confidence grows when someone finally explains things in a way that makes sense to you, not just the way it’s always been taught.
I have spent the past 7 years of my professional career working with students that had a wide range of special needs, extreme behavioral disorders, or just needed a little extra love in their learning journey— dedicated to discovering new ways to make the content not only make sense to each learner, but make them have the confidence to apply is in real-world context. Once I got my Florida Elementary Education (K-6th grades) Certification in 2019, I have worked with 2nd-5th grade students in all subjects (specializing in Math instruction and support) to not only achieve their academic growth goals, but also find their love for discovering new information in ways that work for them! When working with my students, my goal isn’t just to help them pass a test or finish an assignment (though we’ll do that too). My goal is to help them feel capable, confident, and proud of their progress: moving at a pace that works, asking questions without fear, and building understanding step by step. I use unique approaches to help my students understand content— utilizing your interests, hobbies, and even after-school activities to find new ways to make what you’re learning in school just click. Learning is not one size fits all— each learner has their own unique was of thinking about the world around them. It is my job to find out what works for you and have fun along the way!
