Hi, I’m Stephen!
I’m a current medical school applicant who earned A’s in Organic Chemistry I & II and Biochemistry. I completed my undergraduate degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology at Florida State University, where I was also an NCAA Division I swimmer specializing in mid-distance IM and breaststroke. I decided to pursue medicine late during my senior year at FSU, so I enrolled in an 11-month pre-medical post-baccalaureate program at George Washington University after graduating, ultimately earning a 3.71 science GPA.
While I have loved exploring the sciences, especially Organic Chemistry, I also understand how challenging the course can feel. It is often seen as a notorious “weed-out” class, but it doesn’t have to be that way. With the right approach and guidance, I believe anyone can succeed. I personally had a supportive professor, but I know many students do not have that experience, which motivates me to make the subject more approachable.
Although I am new to formal tutoring, I've often helped classmates and close friends understand these concepts by breaking them down into simpler steps. Through this, I found that I really enjoyed explaining material and supporting others as they learn at their own pace. In our sessions, I can guide you through practice problems, explain difficult concepts in depth, help construct study plans for exams, and offer support for other areas of pre-medical coursework if needed.
If you are looking for help with Organic Chemistry, I would be happy to share the strategies that worked for me and help you build confidence in the material. Please feel free to reach out; I look forward to helping you succeed!
