Laramie S.

My name is Laramie, but I also go by L.J. I graduated cum laude in 2017 with a B.S. in health sciences and minors in biology, chemistry, and music. More recently I completed my master's degree in cognitive psychology at USF, with a specialty in statistics. I've also been playing guitar since 2005 and play mostly jazz, although I've played a lot of blues, rock, bluegrass, country, and tons more. In high school, I tutored other students in algebra and calculus and gave guitar lessons. My teaching abilities and philosophy have changed since then, but these early experiences made me realize how important it can be to have some outside source of information for a successful education.

In graduate school, I taught labs, led study sessions, and held office hours for courses such as intro psych, social psych, psych statistics, and research methods. Throughout my training (as part of a memory modeling lab) and coursework I gained expertise in various cognitive and neurophysiological topics and advanced statistical methods (logistics regression, structural equation modeling, multivariate statistics, network analysis, and more). This allowed me to also gain expertise in R and MATLAB.
