Reading and math are my strengths. I have experience with both struggling learners as well as learners strictly in need of enrichment. I believe in a balanced literacy approach when teaching children to read. Early intervention is key. In math I use the concrete, representational, and abstract method to make sense of numbers and build fluency. When working with struggling students I strive to find the root of problem and use methods such as explicit instruction, gameplay, multiple modalities, and research-based interventions grounded in the science of learning. I can create lessons tailored to students needs or use work provided. Flexibility and responsiveness are also my strengths.
Teaching is my passion. I love working with students and enjoy seeing their faces light up when they understand and learn something new!
