I would like to tutor 1st and 2nd-year Latin students who are in middle and high school.
I want to help students learn Latin effectively and efficiently. I agree with Andrea Stehle that brains work differently. She says that a student needs to experiment with different methods until he finds what works for him. In this way he is making his brain work smarter. I believe that it is my job as a tutor to suggest methods for a student to try until he finds what works for him. I feel passionate about being able to explain grammatical concepts in a way that students can understand. I also have many pneumonic devices to aid in memorizing.
I love to discuss Etruscan and Roman history as well as mythology or whatever topics interest my students. I am an avid fan of the Junior Classical League Regional and State Fora as well as the National Latin Exam.
