Hello! My name is Arkasha, and I'm a current medical student. I graduated top of my class with a bachelor's degree in molecular biology. I also scored 524 on the MCAT, and in the 99th percentile on USMLE Step 2.

For over five years, I have helped students succeed on the MCAT, USMLE exams, and in premed coursework. My tutoring approach emphasizes content mastery, test-taking strategies, and completing practice questions with real-time feedback. I’ve worked with students at various levels—from premeds aiming for a competitive MCAT score to medical students preparing for the USMLE exams.

When tutoring the MCAT, I seek to understand each student’s strengths and weaknesses and create personalized lesson plans. For example, I helped a student improve from a 504 to a 518 over a few months. I would break down topics like biochemistry and physics into manageable chunks and provided feedback on practice passages to fine-tune their approach. I also emphasized the importance of test-taking strategies—such as how to handle complex passage-based questions, how to identify keywords, and how to avoid common traps.

In my USMLE tutoring, I focus on helping students understand both the material and how to tackle clinical vignettes. I also teach students how to work through lengthy passages under time pressure. One student I worked with struggled to integrate clinical knowledge across body systems, and after several sessions focused on high-yield topics and clinical reasoning, they improved their score by 12 points.

As an undergraduate, I also tutored many students in biology, chemistry, and physics. I would teach these subjects one-on-one or in groups of 3-4 students and would create lesson plans incorporating classroom material to help students grasp the content and apply it in an exam-focused manner.
