Hello there,

I am an experienced online tutor and adjunct professor at the local community college. I currently teach Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics. In my time as a grad student at Florida State University I taught five classes of Principles of Microeconomics and I received the Sobel Academic Achievement Award for PhD Candidates in 2011. Prior to grad school I scored a 800 on the math section of the GRE, a perfect score. My duties also included being a teaching assistant for many other economics classes, a tutor in the computer lab, and a research assistant for the experimental economics lab. I have been tutoring online since 2013 and have enjoyed every minute of it. I love the "ah ha" moment that a student gets when an idea clicks in a lesson. Economics has always been an interest of mine and it is great to share my knowledge with others (even if I annoy my friends by talking about it to much.) I specialize in microeconomics and game theory and tutor both up to the PhD level. Other fields I enjoy are environmental econ, experimental econ, public choice, and public finance. Although I still help with macroeconomics as well and anything econ related.

Game theory has been a specific interest as I enjoy strategic behavior. This can be seen in private life as I will play any type of game or competition. Whether it be sports (soccer, volleyball, basketball, ultimate,) video games, or board games, I always love a good challenge. I'm also a big Star Wars fan. I have a diverse taste in music and play the harmonica. Although sometimes it is nice to take a long walk in the woods or go airboating with my father.

I have a somewhat flexible schedule, so if feel free to ask and we might be able to work something out. Notes that are taken during the lesson will be provided afterwards. While I specialize in intermediate microeconomics, game theory, and other related fields, I can still help with other economic fields as well as some statistics and finance. Please don't be hesitant to contact me with any questions you might have.

I specialize in microeconomics and tutor it at all levels, AP, principles, intermediate, Master's, MBA, and PhD. Each level as well as each student is different, so I adjust my lesson to meet an individual needs. For a student's first micro class the material can be daunting, but I can make it less so by explaining the graphs and concepts using real world examples, practice problems and tricks to make learning the material easier. For intermediate or MBA, more math is involved yet a student has usually taken a few econ courses and familiar with the basic concepts. I can help with all sections, whether it be consumer theory, theory of the firm or more advanced topics like game theory. For Master's and PhD student's of economics the math is much more intensive. However many student's often have a strong math background and still need help with economic concepts. I am more than fluent in topics like optimization, duality, game theory, etc. No matter the level, micro and game theory are not only my greatest strengths but my favorite field to tutor in economics.

Definitely knowledgable tutor

Overall good tutor. We went over a couple complicated problems and he helped me figure them out fairly smoothly. I've used him several times and would definitely use him again in the future.

Super helpful!

My 10th grade child so far has had one session with Jesse. She said he was super helpful, knew everything she ask him, and she is planning on scheduling for another session. He was perfectly on time.

Thoughtful, smart and patient

Jesse is a star. He takes the time needed, flexible with busy schedules and super patient. It's been a combination of entirely new things and learning the basics all over again, and I don't know how I would be succeeding in this without him.

Excellent tutor!

Jesse has been helping my son with first year college macroeconomics! Passed midterm with Jesse’s patient and expert tutoring, explaining each chapter as we go along! Thanks Jesse! So glad we found you!

Passionate and very curious about econ!

I liked working with Jesse on my problem sets, I would like to thank him for his time the other day by making this review. Thanks for explaining to me the shortcut and other nuisances on micro.

Knowledgeable tutor

Jesse was able to break down his understanding of concepts into smaller bits to ensure I understood. He is also quite patient and generous with his time as we went over the time allocated with no complaints. I would highly recommend Jesse.

Excellent teacher!

His lecture was very clear and easy to understand. When I didn't understand 100%, he stopped and went back to the explanation again in a different way. Overall, I loved his way to teach! If I get more questions, I will definitely come back and ask him again.

Game theory

He was really good at explaining and actually knew how to help. I previously used Chegg tutors and had no help. Game theory is super specialized so I didn’t really have many resources.

Savannah, 2 lessons with Jesse

Clutch tutor!

Very helpful, thorough, and clear. Was a huge help in understanding macro econ. He broke down each topic for me step by step to make sure I got it. Definitely recommend to anyone in need of help.
