Hello there,

I am an experienced online tutor and have been an adjunct professor at the local community college. I have taught Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics. In my time as a grad student at Florida State University I taught five classes of Principles of Microeconomics and I received the Sobel Academic Achievement Award for PhD Candidates in 2011. Prior to grad school I scored a 800 on the math section of the GRE, a perfect score. My duties also included being a teaching assistant for many other economics classes, a tutor in the computer lab, and a research assistant for the experimental economics lab. I have been tutoring online since 2013 and have enjoyed every minute of it. I love the "ah ha" moment that a student gets when an idea clicks in a lesson. Economics has always been an interest of mine and it is great to share my knowledge with others (even if I annoy my friends by talking about it too much.) I specialize in microeconomics and game theory and tutor both up to the PhD level. Other fields I enjoy are environmental econ, experimental econ, public choice, and public finance. Although I still help with macroeconomics as well and anything econ related.

Game theory has been a specific interest as I enjoy strategic behavior. This can be seen in private life as I will play any type of game or competition. Whether it be sports (soccer, volleyball, basketball, ultimate,) video games, or board games, I always love a good challenge. I'm also a big Star Wars fan. I have a diverse taste in music and play the harmonica.

I have a somewhat flexible schedule, so if feel free to ask and we might be able to work something out. Notes that are taken during the lesson will be provided afterwards. While I specialize in intermediate microeconomics, game theory, and other related fields, I can still help with other economic fields as well as some statistics and finance. Please don't be hesitant to contact me with any questions you might have.

Macroeconomics

Macroeconomics

I specialize in economics and tutor AP macroeconomics, principles of macroscopics, intermediate macroeconomics, as well at the graduate level for MBA and Master's students. I also occasionally tutor at the PhD level, but this is dependent on the models discussed. Each level as well as each student is different, so I adjust my lesson to meet an individual needs. For a student's first macro class the material can be daunting, but I can make it less so by explaining the graphs and concepts using real world examples, practice problems and tricks to make learning the material easier. Covering topics such as thinking like an economist, Supply and Demand, equilibrium, Aggregate Demand and Supply (ADAS,) monetary policy, and fiscal policy. One reason to pick me if you are student taking Intermediate macro or other upper level courses is because macroeconomic models are highly variable book to book. I am familiar with all of the common textbooks used and know which variation of a model to use. I also tutor macroeconomic based electives including but not limited to, international trade, international finance, money and banking, and labor economics.
Microeconomics

Microeconomics

I specialize in microeconomics and tutor it at all levels, AP microeconomics, principles of microeconomics, intermediate microeconomics, Master's, MBA, and PhD. Each level as well as each student is different, so I adjust my lesson to meet an individual's needs. For a student's first micro class the material can be daunting, but I can make it less so by explaining the graphs and concepts using real world examples, practice problems and tricks to make learning the material easier. Covering topics such as thinking like an economist, Supply and Demand, equilibrium, elasticity, perfect competition, monopoly and basic game theory. For intermediate or MBA, more math is involved yet a student has usually taken a few econ courses and familiar with the basic concepts. I can help with all sections, whether it be consumer theory, theory of the firm or more advanced topics like game theory. For Master's and PhD student's of economics the math is much more intensive. However many student's often have a strong math background and still need help with economic concepts. I am more than fluent in topics like optimization, utility maximization, cost minimization, duality, game theory, etc. I tutor microeconomics based electives included but not limited to, experimental economics, public choice, public finance, games and decisions, industrial organization, behavioral economics, environmental economics, econometrics, economics of law, and health care economics. No matter the level, micro and game theory are not only my greatest strengths but my favorite field to tutor in economics.
Statistics

Statistics

Understanding statistics is a key for success in math, natural sciences or social sciences. Having a good foundation in statistics is also crucial before moving on to econometrics, biostatistics and other forms of linear regression analysis. As an economist I have used stats and econometrics in teaching, research and my personal life. I am happy to help students who need assistance with any intro course in stats. These include but are not limited to intro statistics, business statistics, MBA statistics and AP statistics. I can also help with related subjects such as intro to probability and econometrics. If requesting help with any upper level stats courses, please let me know the details and I can advise if I can be assistance.

Truly gifted tutor

I strongly recommend Jesse. I was struggling with microeconomics. Jesse patiently and expertly navigated me through the concepts I needed to understand and I not only passed my course but passed with a higher than expected grade. The problems he worked on with me along with his notes and graphs next to each problem, played a critical role on my final exam.
