Bible Studies - I have been personally studying the bible on a daily basis for 13 years. I have numerous tools to help with reading comprehension, studying the original text (Greek/Hebrew), verse memorization, topical study, etc.
Public Speaking - I have training in both personal and professional settings. I have tools and strategies for organization, engaging the audience, and professional presentations.
Career Development - I use coaching, mentoring, and counseling techniques, along with career and personality assessments to help students determine short term and long term major and career goals.
College Counseling - I utilize coaching and assessments to help student discover their interest and strengths. I, then, help them take this information and use it as a lens to research universities, colleges, majors, careers, and financial aid opportunities.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took religion courses in college - Intro To Biblical Studies and Old Testament. I worked at a campus ministry at Florida State University at the Associate Director for 4 years where I was in charge of creating, implementing, and teaching all the small group curriculum that was primarily based on studying the bible. Study included scripture memorization, reading comprehension, cross referencing, and commentaries.
I have been teaching a College Success (SLS1510) course at Tallahassee Community College since August of 2010. The course requires a career project that constitutes as approximately 25% of the course grade and includes a career assessment known as the Self Directed Search. The course also includes chapters on choosing a major and personality assessment (Myer-Briggs) that factor into choosing a career. I also have experience administering the Strengths Finder assessment while working as the Leadership Coordinator for a grant program for four years.
I have 10 years of experience counseling students in various topics related to college such as choosing a college, majors, prerequisites, advising, career, involvement, service learning, and civic engagement. I supervised and mentored 30-75 students for four years as the Coordinator for a mentoring program and Student Government at Tallahassee Community College.
I also counseled students that were graduating from the community college and transferring to universities, both in state and out of state.
