I am a PhD student in Business Management and Organization. I have 42 hours of course work completed and an anticipated graduate date of fall, 2013.

Government & Politics

My professional career includes over 28 years working as a lobbyist, primarily in the fields of education and mental health. I hold both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Public Administration.

Marketing

My experience in marketing spans 2 decades in both public and private sector areas. Branding issues, candidates, associations and nonprofits, along with marketing private sector businesses is my specialty. I write and produce videos, public service announcements and commercials for television and radio. My expertise includes drafting speeches, marketing materials and direct mail. I also do press conferences and media relations work for my clients. Meeting tight deadlines and preparing media packets in a multi-faceted program is a marketing standard. Social media is becoming the norm, with websites, texting, facebook and twitter as an important part of communicating to the masses. My experience began in this arena in the early 1980's during a presidential campaign as a state director. We communicated with our colleages in a very limited fashion with computers throughout the country. Advancements in the last 2 decades has changed the world and how we market and brand today.

Proofreading

I am an adjunct professor and teach public policy and business writing at two local colleges. I am also completing my coursework for my PhD in business and organizational management. I have extensive writing experience, and am considered a communications expert.

Public Speaking

I am a professional with over twenty-five years of public speaking experience. I can help you to improve your public speaking, presentation and communication strategies.

Speech

As a political operative I have been a public speaker for over 2 decades in my capacity as campaign manager, association manager and senior consultant to nonprofit and statewide associations. I have taken undergraduate courses in speech and an now studying for a Florida certification, grades 6-9. I have been a spokesperson for many clients with issues ranging from public education to mental health. As a senior manager for the Florida Education Association, I conducted a campaign training with candidates running in school board, superintendant and legislative races. It was during these campaign schools that I directed the programs including public speaking and speech. I worked one-on-one with my students and we had a 99% success record with our elections. I continue to coach candidates in their message delivery and have recently worked with a judicial candidate who was running for circuit court judge in the Panhandle of Florida. I wrote her message, all political commercials and print publications, along with coaching her on all her speaking engagements and television appearances.

Study Skills

I can help with study skills for test preparation. I am a student myself, working on my PhD. I have a master's degree in Public Administration, and teach as an adjunct for Barry University here in Tallahassee, Florida. I am carrying a 4.0 average in my PhD coursework, and graduated with a 3.85 with my Master's. I know how to study, and encourage my students to take the time, and to learn how to manage their time, energy, and target key points when reading, and preparing for tests. I create study guides for my students prior to their mid-term and final exams, and believe I can tutor students as they work towards their academic goals.
