Hello! My name is Amelia, and I am excited at the opportunity to work with you! I completed my bachelor's degree in psychology at Florida State University, and I am currently finishing my master's degree in political science. Throughout my education, I have written more essays than I can count-ranging from investigative field essays to research reports to a 40-page applied policy analysis. I also have spent an extensive amount of time verifying and editing legislative publications for the Clerk of the Florida House of Representatives.
In high school, I loved math and completed through AP Calculus AB. In fact, I loved math so much that I retook calculus in college just because I had so much fun doing it...I know, my idea of fun is quite strange!
For two years, I worked as one of Varsity Tutors employees, specializing in mathematics and in tutoring people with a special need or learning disability. I found it so rewarding to see my students' progress, and I am still so proud of them to this day!
I am happy to work with anyone and everyone, and I will always prioritize the needs and mental wellness of my students. I am excited to get back into tutoring and hope to work with you soon!

Throughout my undergraduate career, I specialized in psychology and took many classes revolving around counseling and understanding people with complex mental struggles. For two years, I worked with Varsity Tutors as a mathematics tutor. I worked consistently with individuals who struggled with ASD, ADHD, and/or social anxiety disorder. I have also volunteered with Miracle League, an institution that partners volunteers with children that have a physical or mental disability. I love working with individuals who have a particular psychological struggle because I understand them, relate to them, and work to provide them as much patience as possible in order to ensure a comfortable working environment.

I currently work for the Clerk of the FL House of Representatives, where I am tasked with proofreading publications and transcripts. When I verify the House Memorandums and House Journals, I make suggestions on how to better word ideas in concise ways that flow. For my master's degree, I have written many reports---ranging from creative political messaging ads to essays based on varying research questions.
