I recently graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Throughout my undergraduate career, I discovered a passion for teaching and guiding students through challenging material in the sciences. For one year, I served as a teaching assistant for General Biology, supporting a course of over 200 students. In this role, I led weekly office hours where I provided individualized help and explained complex biological concepts in approachable and relatable ways. I focused on identifying where students were struggling and helping them build confidence through step-by-step explanations.
For two years, I also taught a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant course, where I led the lab portion of class with about 20 college students. This experience sharpened my ability to adapt my teaching style to fit different learning preferences, and to break down dense material into understandable, engaging lessons. My background in both theoretical biology and clinical instruction gives me a well-rounded foundation to help students not only understand the material, but also see its real-world applications.
I pride myself on being a patient, supportive, and creative tutor. My approach is centered around building understanding, not memorization. I believe that science is for everyone and with the right explanation and encouragement, any student can succeed. Whether it's preparing for an exam or building foundational knowledge, I strive to make learning science a positive and empowering experience.
