Hey everyone! My name is William McBride. I am an undergraduate studying Behavioral Neuroscience at Florida State University, but I already have two years of college classes under my belt via Dual Enrollment. I scored a high enough ACT score to receive the Bright Futures Academic Scholars (FAS) scholarship, which covers nearly one hundred percent of my college tuition at Florida State. I am a proud member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society as well as the National Society of Leadership and Success.
During my senior year of high school, I gained many hours of volunteer tutoring experience at a local private school. I tutored grade levels from third grade to high school level, but I spent the most time tutoring those in the fifth grade and seventh grade. Although I tutored primarily math at the private school, my expertise lies in English and writing. I have experience teaching both in a classroom setting and one-on-one with students.
Through dual enrollment, I achieved a letter grade of A in English Composition 1, English Composition 2, and English Literature 1. In high school, I won second place in an essay contest for the Jackson County Optimist Club, and I won first place in a short story writing contest for my local home education group. On top of loving to write essays and study literature, writing fiction is a passion of mine. My first novel is currently in the revision process and on its way to one day being published.
