Hello, my name is Joe. I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from Daytona State College, where I graduated from with honors. I am currently a retired teacher (2023) with 9+ years of experience teaching in the Florida public school setting. As a recently retired teacher, I am well versed in testing strategies and the standards in all subject areas for the elementary setting, and have an innate way of breaking down learning concepts to a more manageable means for the struggling child. During my time as a teacher, I obtained a Distinguished rating five years in a row, which is task not easily achieved.

My time in the public school setting offered me many opportunities to fine tune my schools over the subject areas by exposing me to a variety of student types. The challenges that the students faced granted me the chance to grow as a professional, allowing me the task to fine tune my skills as an educator. From this, I have had a steady increase in success throughout the years, success being derived from the student's overall passing achievement. To me, success was only measurable through how well my students were doing in the classroom. My main goal has always been to stimulate their young minds towards learning, and hopefully inspire them to grow beyond what they perceived to be possible.

For the last five years, while I was still an educator to hundreds of students, I began to tutor outside of the classroom setting. This would range from elementary mathematics all the way up to algebra and geometry. Tutoring was initially intended to be a means to help a select few children I knew who were genuinely struggling in school. But, after a little while, I began to realize the positive results I was having with the kids I was working with and wanted to give others the same opportunity.

By having your child willingly work alongside me, I will do my very best to show them the necessary strategies that will be needed to succeed academically. Thank you for your time!
