I attended Eastern Illinois University for my undergrad and my graduate work. My major for my Bachelors was in health education. My Graduate major was special education. I graduated with my Bachelors in 1982 and completed my graduate work in 1984. I went back for more graduate work in 2005 and graduated from National Louis University in 2007 with a masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
The last 27 years of my career I have taught elementary special education. I have worked extended day programs to help tutor children. I have worked summer school with children with special needs to help them continue to work toward their IEP goals. I served on the Literacy committee, Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and School Advisory Council of my school. I was honored to be nominated for teacher of the year this past school year.
