During my 4 year journey with the rangers I underwent Tommy John Surgery at the end of my third spring training. During rehab for my elbow I focused on gaining strength and learning new routines. At the end of my rehab assignment I was topping out at 94-95mph when my bicep began having a sharp pain that has been off and on my whole life. After flying around to see 3 different doctors, I was diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome. The only option would be to remove my first rib and with the amount of risk, I opted out of the surgery and had to hang up my cleats. With the love for the game and the many lessons baseball has taught me I am wanting to give back to the youth to help learn and develop a love for the game like I have.
