I am an experienced Learning Specialist, Reading and Dyslexia Specialist. I have taught in public and private schools, non-profit literacy centers, and private speech therapy practice. My experience includes small group, one-on-one intervention and online tutoring. I have considerable experience working as a Language Based Therapist for students in Reading (K-12), Dyslexia (K-12) and Cognitive Learning Skills (K-12).

I assess a student’s needs to develop a specific instruction plan to strengthen the student’s academic abilities. My lessons are created with a hands-on, multi-sensory approach to complement the students’ various learning styles. Each lesson builds upon previously learned skills, providing students opportunities to practice and reinforce these concepts. Relevant cognitive learning skills are woven into each lesson based on the student’s needs and challenges.

My instructional experience includes the creation and implementation of a very successful Reading Intervention Program, as well as curriculum development and publications for teachers, therapists, tutors and parents.

As a teacher, my mission is to help each student realize their potential and gain the self-esteem and confidence to succeed. I highlight gains and help students to maximize their strengths and improve upon cognitive weaknesses, resulting in coursework becoming easier to manage and giving students that needed lift.
