Hello, my name is Kaitlyn! I graduated summa cum laude from Florida State University with majors in both French and Religion. I also received my masters in Religion at Yale Divinity School. My favorite subjects to teach are New Testament and Church History.
I currently teach Religion at a middle school and I love working with my students. I believe that the best learning takes place when students feel safe to express themselves and a personal connection with the material, which is why I emphasize building relationships and meeting students where they are at. I like to keep lessons light-hearted, informative, and meaningful.
I studied French language for over ten years and had the opportunity to study French grammar at l'Universite Catholique in Paris for one summer. I received my bachelors degree in French, and I took courses on French grammar, literature, film, and history. My favorite French course was on medieval female autobiographies, for which I researched St. Joan of Arc and Christine de Pizan. Learning a new language truly opens up a door to a whole new world of art, history, and culture, and I hope to pass on that gift to my students!
I studied religion at both Florida State and Yale University. At Florida State, I concentrated my religious studies in New Testament and Biblical Languages. I studied Biblical Hebrew, Attic Greek, and Biblical Aramaic.
At Yale, I continued studying ancient languages and researching the New Testament. I took courses on the Old Testament, the Gospel of Matthew, the Gospel of John, Medieval Church History, Ancient Christian Liturgy, Ancient Church Architecture, and more. I also received a certificate from the Roman Catholic Lay Leadership program at Yale.
I am passionate about helping students understand Biblical texts and Church History and increasing their confidence in the subject matter!
Please feel free to contact me and set up an appointment. I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve success in your studies!
