Hi, I’m Anne! I am a SC certified educator with five years of classroom teaching experience, specializing in elementary education, early childhood development, and targeted literacy support. After spending years managing large classrooms, I transitioned to tutoring because I love the power of one-on-one instruction. There is nothing more rewarding than giving a student the dedicated time, personalized attention, and tailored lessons they need to truly thrive.
My Experience & Qualifications:
*Classroom Proven: Five years of full-time teaching experience in South Carolina (2nd and 4th grades), working with students spanning K4 through 6th-grade learning levels.
*Specialized Training: Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood endorsement and a specialized Read to Succeed (R2S) literacy certification.
*Diverse Learning Needs: Extensive experience designing successful interventions for students with ADHD and Autism. Extensive experience collaborating with other professionals in personalizing educational plans such as IEPs or Behavioral Plans.
+My Teaching Philosophy:
I deeply believe that when students see your genuine dedication to their growth, they rise to the occasion. By focusing on your child’s unique strengths and learning style, I design high-impact, one-hour sessions that build both academic skills and independent confidence. Whether your child needs intensive reading intervention, math enrichment, or organizational support, my passion is helping them meet their educational goals and develop a lifelong love for learning.

Approved Subjects

Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I hold a Bachelors in Elementary Education with an add-on in Early Childhood Education and the Read to Succeed Endorsement certification. I have taught and managed large classrooms with abilities ranging from K4 to 6th grade. I am skilled in designing differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles, making foundational concepts engaging and accessible to help every student build academic confidence.
Reading

Reading

I hold a degree in Elementary Education with a Read to Succeed endorsement, specializing in foundational literacy and advanced reading comprehension strategies. With five years of classroom experience teaching 2nd and 4th grades, I specialize in guiding students through the critical transition from learning to read to analyzing complex texts. My background allows me to design targeted reading interventions that bridge learning gaps and build lasting academic confidence. By utilizing adaptive teaching methods, I help young learners master critical literacy skills and achieve their milestone goals.
Spelling

Spelling

As a certified educator specializing in early childhood and elementary literacy, skilled in grades K-6th, I approach spelling not as a memorization game, but as a critical companion to reading success. My background allows me to look at a student’s spelling errors and diagnose the exact underlying gaps in their phonics or syllable knowledge. Instead of just drilling word lists, I use evidence-based Word Study techniques-like phoneme-grapheme mapping and structural analysis-to teach students how to break complex, multi-syllable words into manageable chunks. By connecting the sounds of language to the rules of print in a patient, supportive environment, I help students build the concrete decoding and encoding skills they need to become confident, independent spellers for life.
