Some people tolerate math. I've always been drawn to it. I still seek out challenging puzzles in my spare time just for the satisfaction of cracking them. In high school, classmates started coming to me before tests, and I quickly discovered how much I enjoyed breaking down complex concepts into simple steps and watching someone who was stuck suddenly get it.
That passion led me to Cornell University, where I earned a B.S. in Statistics and served as a teaching assistant for Calculus I and Statistics I, running weekly sessions and helping students work through challenging problem sets and build a real understanding of the material.
I work with students on full ACT and SAT prep across all sections, not just math. I know both tests well: the recurring patterns, the traps in the answer choices, and where students consistently leave points on the table. My test prep sessions combine targeted content review with timing strategies built around each student's specific weak spots.
I've tutored students across a wide range of levels: middle school pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB/BC, college calculus, AP Statistics, and college statistics.
Every student processes math differently. Some need a diagram before a formula makes sense. Some want to grind through problems until the pattern clicks. Some need the "why" before they'll trust the "how." I figure out which one you are early, and I keep sessions low-pressure, conversational, and focused. I also work on the skills that carry beyond any single test or class: organization, how to study independently, how to check your own work.
If you're looking for a higher ACT or SAT score, a better grade, or just someone who can make a confusing topic feel manageable, send me a message and tell me what you're working on. I'll let you know exactly how I can help.
