Hello! My name is Ms. Emily, and I bring over sixteen years of experience teaching ninth grade students, with a strong emphasis on Advanced Placement Human Geography. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s in Human Resource Development, full Teacher Certification, and Gifted Endorsement. I was also honored by my colleagues as Teacher of the Year, a recognition that reflects my dedication to student growth and my passion for helping young people see the world with curiosity and confidence. My love for teaching began while traveling internationally and experiencing the beauty of different cultures firsthand—experiences that continue to shape the way I connect with students and bring global concepts to life in the classroom.
As a tutor, my approach is warm, structured, and highly student centered. I specialize in preparing students for the AP Human Geography exam through a blend of active learning, guided practice, inquiry based questioning, and real world examples that make abstract concepts meaningful. Each year, I lead six weeks of focused tutoring before the national exam, offering both small group sessions and one on one support to strengthen understanding and build confidence. I also incorporate essential study skills coaching—such as note taking strategies, organization techniques, and targeted test prep methods—to help students become more independent learners. My goal is always to meet students where they are, help them grow, and make learning an engaging, empowering experience.
