I am an experienced K–12 educator and school leader with more than 20 years of experience helping students and teachers succeed. My background includes serving as a Reading Coach, MTSS Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and most recently as a founding K–8 charter school principal. I have extensive experience working with elementary and middle school students, particularly in reading, writing, literacy development, study skills, and academic intervention. I have also worked with students who need additional support through MTSS and Exceptional Student Education. As a Reading Coach, I focused on evidence-based literacy instruction and the Science of Reading, helping students build strong foundational reading skills while supporting teachers in meeting individual student needs. I hold Florida educator certifications in Educational Leadership, Elementary Education K–6, and Exceptional Student Education (ESE K–12), among others.
My approach to tutoring is personal, encouraging, and focused on helping students build both skills and confidence. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and when instruction is tailored to the way they learn. I begin by getting to know the student, identifying strengths and areas that need additional support, and then developing a plan that targets specific goals. I use modeling, guided practice, questioning, feedback, and hands-on activities to help students understand concepts rather than simply memorize answers. I also believe in celebrating progress along the way. My goal is for students to leave each session feeling more confident, more capable, and better prepared to take ownership of their learning.
