My strong suit in tutoring for math is my capability of breaking down the problems step by step - I tend to incorporate colored pens to allow students to visualize each step piece by piece. Being a teacher definitely helps my tutoring skills as I prompt questions to get ideas and thoughts to evoke, rather than just working out the problem for each student. I like to be there as a guide to make sure the practice skills are being reinforced by the student so they can understand the material and perform better on their own during an assessment. I specialize in all things Algebra as it is my absolute favorite to teach, but I have many other areas I tutor in as well.
