Hi! I'm a marine biologist in Florida who studies entire ocean ecosystems - fish, sharks, turtles, crabs, and everything else. I have a Master's degree in Marine Biology (specifically jellyfish!) from Auburn University, where I worked as a teaching assistant for biology and genetics labs. After graduating, I moved to California to help run a new teaching center. It was wildly successful, and after being the face of that business for 3 years, I moved back to the East to continue my career as a marine biologist!

I'm have a very laid back style of teaching and scheduling, and have successfully tutored 30+ private students - plus 1000+ university students! Fortunately, almost all of my students want to come back and will ask me to tutor multiple classes during their college career. A few have even had me tutor them in med school and vet school classes simply because my teaching style works so well for them. I love working through material that's new to both of us so we can learn together!

My strengths are the sciences (Biology/Invertebrate Biology/Genetics/Ecology/Marine Systems, etc) and the histories (World History, European History, Modern/Medieval, etc). I've also had five years of French training and have tutored Intro to Psychology, Logic, Ethics, and a few other prerequisite-type classes. Ask me about any other subjects or classes (especially sciences) and I'll see what I think my own abilities are!

The most rewarding part of my past has been watching students who once struggled now enter med school, vet school, optometry school, PhDs, and fellowship programs. I'll always be a mentor and friend to those students, and I can't wait to help others! No matter what your level, I know that with a little help and some fun analogies, I can help you reach whatever goal you desire. Send me a message, let me know what you're studying, and I'll talk to you soon!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Lauren was great! She helped me get my arms around some confusing concepts and was very reassuring even when I was feeling overwhelmed. And she provided great tips to help me with test prep. Overall, just an outstanding tutor!
