About Bill

Bio

I'm the Math teacher you always wanted.

As a former math teacher I committed long age to finding a way to explain a concept that my student could understand. I get back to what makes sense to a student and then build from there. I do all of this with a sense of humor and a smile!

Slow down, it really is easy. Once we establish the base building on it is fun. My preference it to meet online. It is an incredibly powerful environment.

Statistics

Statistics

Statistics starts with vocabulary. If you think 'I got this' without really knowing the definitions you are setting yourself up to fail. I have taken basic statistics and supplemented that knowledge with online courses from Duke and the University of Zurich.

Study Skills

I learned study skills over time from experience as a student, teacher and business professional. I enhanced these skills by taking and teaching classes on the subject. Tutoring in this area is a logical extension of this work. I find it very gratifying to be a part of a student's continued success.

Sometimes when you are studying Trig you wonder, "How did someone come up with this?" Well that's part of the joy of the subject. Although I have been very successful tutoring trig I felt a need to refresh the concepts in my mind. So I enrolled in, and completed, a review.

ASVAB,

ASVAB

I have tutored, both in person and online, in a number of subject areas. My strong suit is math but I have covered the full range of subjects included on the ASVAB exam. Most people that need help with the exam are either very good in some areas and not so strong in others or have 'test anxiety.' We will work on both.

As a teacher I assisted coworkers who were using the Praxis exam to add mathematics to the list of subjects they could teach. Great experience

Bill sat with my son and right away had him engaged and had him interacting as if the had known one another for years. My son is shy and Bill was able to get him to open up and ask questions. The lesson went very well and we are now scheduling the next lesson to continue with helping my son understand geometry.

Wonderful tutor -- Couldn't be happier!

My son is an Algebra 2 Honors student in the 10th grade. He needed some extra one-on-one practice and we found Bill through WyzAnt. Bill and my son continue to meet regularly. Because my son enjoys working with Bill so much, he recommended Bill to a classmate in need all on his own! We are very pleased with Bill, as he is flexible and goes above and beyond, even sending home extra practice when necessary. Bill has also found additional on-line resources for my son when he had questions in other subjects as well. Bill is a wonderful tutor and can assist in many areas of schooling. Confidence and understanding has improved, and grades have also improved. -- We will continue to use Bill's tutoring services with all of our children as needs may arise. *Highly recommended.

Patient and knowledgeable

Just getting started, Bill is doing a great job. Made good suggestions on what to improve on and how to make things easier. Looking forward to next lesson and becoming more knowledgeable in math.

Darlene, 3 lessons with Bill

Very patient and knowledgeable

Bill was very helpful. There were concepts that I have not seen in years, and he helped me with them. After our lesson, I was able to pick up on the concepts and master it. I’m having another session with him next week.

Tareke, 2 lessons with Bill

Knowledgeable.. Patient..

Bill makes stats easier to understand. He tries to teach shortcuts to make it easier to understand the subject matter. He re-teaches aspects that I fail to retain between sessions.
