Hi! My name is Pam, and I am a credentialed California teacher with over 23 years of classroom experience in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Throughout my career, I have worked with students from kindergarten through 6th grade in all academic subjects, with a specialty in English language arts and Ancient Civilizations.
I hold a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree from USC, along with a current California teaching credential. Over the years, I have supported students in whole-class settings, small groups, and one-on-one instruction both during class and after school.
My tutoring approach focuses on building trust and meeting students where they are. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, so I like to spend a little time each session getting to know each student and understanding their needs.
With my many years of classroom experience, I understand how to adapt instruction for different learning styles and help students overcome challenges that may be holding them back. I frequently use tools such as graphic organizers, structured writing supports, and targeted skill practice to help students break down complex tasks into manageable steps.
My goal is always to make learning approachable (and as fun as possible), while helping each student grow academically.
