Retired to Gulfport, Florida from Atlanta, Georgia in 2019 after a successful 40 year career. Passionate about helping students that are struggling and want to be helped! I have very limited prior tutoring experience with CogniTutor working with foster kids. I am basically just getting started and seeking a superior platform like Wyzant. My approach involves working with students that are struggling to keep up with the majority of their class and are in danger of being left behind. My intention is to do this by clarifying and simplifying the concepts that they are having difficulty with. My preference is Online tutoring, but I am available for one on one in the students home with parental involvement. I hold a Certificate of Completion from Khan Academy acknowledging that I have completed the Khan for Educators Course and am prepared to start implementing Khan Academy with students using best practices having spent several months becoming proficient in every unit of instruction up to and including the 7th Grade B.E.S.T. mathematics and algebra concepts. I am very impressed with the Wyzant tutoring platform and eager to become a Wyzant Tutor!
