I have tutored 100 level to 500 level accounting courses for over 18 years in higher education. This includes high school students that are in dual enrollment business college courses and are in Future Business Leaders Of America Programs in their high schools. My teaching strategy is to meet all students at their best learning style, for those that are visual learners we work through virtual white boards to break down the accounting equation and build on those foundational concepts. For kinesthetic learners , I use technology such as digital accounting lab programs to engage students in hands-on learning, and for auditory learners I provide a recording of our tutoring sessions to equip students with resources t o listen and review once we have concluded our time together. I believe it is essential to a students success for them to learn where they best perform. I have taught college level accounting, taxation and auditing courses since 2007 with a mixed variety of delivery, on ground meetings which are face-to face, and online utilizing learning management systems as well as hybrid. I am known in many academic capacities that I serve, as one of the most relatable professors that delivers a very complex subject; as Accounting in the most simplest form to new learners that want to understand the complexity to learn how to do business or understand how businesses perform with their financial statements. This makes my heart happy when student understand accounting and are able to move forward with their academic journey.
