Hi! My name is Dimple. I was born and raised in central Florida and recently moved New York with my best 4-pawed friend, Nemo.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering from the University of Florida. I also attended Florida State University medical school for 2 years before leaving to find a happier career path. Now, I'm a statistical programmer/analyst who works in clinical trials and absolutely love integrating so many neat fields like statistics, medicine, programming, etc. to solve problems.
I have tutored kids as young as kindergarteners and elementary-school-aged students in subjects like basic math, phonics, social studies, science, reading, etc. as an after-school Youth Specialist at 11 different elementary schools in Citrus County, Florida, and as a volunteer at 2 elementary schools in St. Petersburg.
I've also enjoyed tutoring middle school, high-school, and college students in everything from standardized exams like SAT/ACT, A.P. subject examinations, SAT 2 Math, etc. to any and all STEM-related subjects: algebra 1/2, (pre-) and differential calculus, trigonometry, geometry, chemistry, physics, organic chemistry, pathology, physiology, biology, statistical programming, etc. Most of my teaching experiences were in small groups or one-on-one.
For any student in any age group, I focus on their needs and their goals and tailor my tutoring approach as needed to make sure that the student has a healthy, fulfilling experience learning and understanding the material. Many students I've worked with are auditory or visual; some have been kinesthetic and learned more through a more hands-on method.
My goal is to coach students to be confident and happy independent learners in any subject that's challenging. Thank you so much for considering me to work with you!
