My name is Emil, and I am excited to work with students who want to strengthen their math skills and build confidence in their learning. I am currently a student at the University of Florida pursuing my bachelor’s degree, with coursework in mathematics through Calculus II, as well as accounting and finance. Prior to shifting into Finance, I followed a pre-health track, completing rigorous coursework in chemistry and biology, which has strengthened my analytical and problem-solving skills.
I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, taking the highest level of mathematics, and earned honors in Math, Biology, and Spanish. I also competed in international math competitions in Sofia, Bulgaria, where my team placed second both times, which are experiences that deepened my mathematical thinking and teamwork skills.
I have been a certified math tutor since 2019, including professional experience with Mathnasium Tutors in Florida. Additionally, I earned a teaching certificate through a European summer school program. In total, I have over six years of tutoring experience, working with students ages 7 to 16, both in person and online.
My teaching approach is structured, patient, and individualized. I begin by reviewing core concepts, then use progressively challenging problems to assess understanding and reinforce mastery. I create custom lesson plans based on each student’s learning style and use a variety of high-quality resources, including paid instructional platforms, practice worksheets, study guides, and presentations aligned with the student’s syllabus.
I specialize in Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and PSAT preparation. I am flexible with scheduling, responsive to messages, and committed to supporting each student’s academic goals. I look forward to working together and helping students succeed with confidence.
