Hello! My name is Sawyer, and I am a dedicated educator with experience in Exceptional Student Education (ESE), specializing in supporting elementary students in reading and math. I have worked in classroom, small-group, and one-on-one settings, helping students with a wide range of learning needs build strong academic foundations. My experience includes implementing IEP-aligned instruction, differentiating lessons, and using a variety of strategies to meet each student where they are. I have worked closely with students who need additional support, and I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and individualized instruction in helping them succeed.
My tutoring approach focuses on building both skills and confidence. I use structured, step-by-step instruction combined with visual supports, guided practice, and repetition to help concepts truly “click.” I also prioritize creating a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks. In addition to my teaching experience, I have several years of youth mentorship through 4-H, which has strengthened my ability to connect with students and build meaningful relationships. I tailor every session to the student’s unique needs and learning style, whether they are working to catch up, stay on track, or gain confidence. My goal is to help each student feel successful and capable both in and out of the classroom.
