I am a retired college English professor with more than 13 years of teaching experience. I also have 30+ years of experience in the newspaper industry with positions ranging from cub reporter to executive editor. I am a retired college English professor with more than 13 years of teaching experience. I also have 30+ years of experience in the newspaper industry with positions ranging from cub reporter to executive editor. Now that I am retired, I spend most of my time reading, gardening, working out at the gym, and watching great movies. In between, I enjoy spending time with my four grandchildren.
I believe that helping students learn is the highest form of human endeavor and that is why I would be happy to tutor anyone in need of some assistance.
If your problem is grammar/writing, I have developed several methods to make our complicated language a bit more understandable. During each of my 13 years of teaching, I taught one course devoted almost entirely to grammar and another to writing. Having a problem with “who” and “whom”? I can help. I can also boast of 30+ years as a writer and editor in the newspaper industry. I have an intimate knowledge of what it is like to sit down in front of a blank screen with a paper due the next morning.
If your problem is literature, I have a formidable knowledge of both English and American literature with a specialty in 19th and 20th century American literature. Literature should be enjoyed and that is the way I like to teach it.
Please contact me if you need assistance. I promise to give you my complete attention and support.
