Hello students!
I understand how challenging learning mathematics can be. I find joy in helping students overcome those challenges by breaking down material into small, digestible chunks and providing a variety of study tools to help aid in retention of material. My teaching experience dates back to 2013 when I started teaching high school mathematics, which has allowed me to work with a variety of learners. Classes I have taught include Algebra 1/Honors, Algebra 2/Honors, Geometry/Honors, Math for College Readiness, Liberal Arts Math, and Statistics Honors. I especially enjoy teaching Algebra 2 and Statistics. I also have a master degree from University of West Florida in Mathematical Sciences, so I am extremely knowledgeable in content, as well as teaching theory.
My philosophy on teaching is that every student is capable of learning mathematics if they are presented with the right tools. I use a variety of teaching and study strategies, such as color coding, graphic organizers, mnemonics, visual and audio aids, structured lesson progressions, guided and explorative questioning, and lots of positive praise. I find a lot of times that students really do understand the core concept of the unit they are learning, and that building their confidence goes a long way in being successful.
I would love to help you on your academic journey and am confident together we can tackle any challenges you come across.
