About Christine

I have a bachelor's and master's in chemical engineering. I tutored math, chemistry and chemical engineering in undergrad for 2.5 years and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I did one-on-one as well as group sessions. General chemistry, organic chemistry, differential equations and calculus were the most requested subjects. I found the experience to be mutually rewarding: I got to help others understand and practice material and they helped me to refresh and solidify my knowledge in the subject areas. It is a great feeling when students have that "ah hah" moment!

I am open to other related subjects besides the ones I have taught in the past. Contact me so that we can see if I could be a fit for you!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 2

As part of my engineering curriculum, I took and excelled in all the math classes I took.

Calculus

I took calculus 1,2 and 3 in my chemical engineering curriculum and I did very well in all 3 classes. I also tutored all 3 while I was pursuing my chemical engineering degree.

Chemistry

Not only did I tutor chemistry classes but I also took quite a bit of chemistry as part of my chemical engineering degree and I did well in all of them.

Differential Equations

I took differential equations in undergrad at Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) as it was a required class for my chemical engineering major; I received an A in class. I also tutored differential equations both 1-on-1 and in a group setting at Florida Tech's academic support center for 2 1/2 years while I was pursuing my degree. All of my students were Florida Tech college students.

Linear Algebra

I took linear algebra in undergrad at Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) as it was a required class for my chemical engineering major; I received an A in class.

Organic Chemistry

I took organic chemistry I and organic chemistry II at Florida Tech while I was pursuing my bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. I also tutored both I and II
at Florida Tech's academic support center for 2 1/2 years while I was pursuing my degree. All of my students were Florida Tech college students.

Precalculus

I took calculus 1,2 and 3 in college and did well in all of them. I also tutored all 3 for about 2.5 years so precalculus will be no problem for me to tutor.

My son had his first lesson, with Christine and it went extremely well. She was prompt and because she gathered information ahead of time, she was able to start the lesson right away. Knowing that Christine is a "good fit," really puts my mind at ease. Now, my son will have the help he needs to be successful in math.
