Hi! My name is Mabel, and I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University. I previously worked as a substitute teacher in South Florida, where I supported students across multiple grade levels in a variety of classroom settings. That experience taught me how to quickly adapt to different learning styles, manage a range of personalities, and keep students engaged even when focus or structure was a challenge. I recently relocated to the Space Coast and am currently in the process of returning to substitute teaching because I genuinely enjoy working with students and being part of their learning process.
When I work with students, I focus on keeping things simple, patient, and encouraging. I understand that not every child learns the same way, so I take the time to figure out how they think and where they’re getting stuck. Whether we’re working on reading, writing, or study skills, I break things down into smaller, manageable steps and make sure they feel confident before moving forward. I also use simple behavior-based strategies to help students stay motivated and on track, like positive reinforcement, clear expectations, and small, achievable goals.
As both a tutor and a parent, I know how important it is for kids to feel supported and not overwhelmed. My goal is to help them build confidence, stay engaged, and feel proud of their progress. I’m happy to work closely with parents so we can stay aligned and make sure your child is improving. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a session. I’d love to help!
