I hold a Master’s degree in Advanced Studies in Integrated Sciences and Online Learning and a Bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education. I am also certified to teach multiple subjects, including Science, Social Science, Biology, and Exceptional Student Education for grades 6-12. Additionally, I have endorsements in Reading and English for Speakers of Other Languages, which equip me with tools to meet the diverse needs of students.
Over the past 13 years, I have taught a range of subjects, including Biology, World History, U.S. History, Civics, Sociology, and Physical Science. My experience spans teaching in both traditional classroom and virtual learning environments, where I have worked with middle and high school students. My teaching approach emphasizes creating engaging, interactive lessons tailored to each student’s needs. For example, I use various instructional tools and strategies, such as scaffolding, questioning techniques, and hands-on learning opportunities, to ensure students master challenging concepts.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have worked with students one-on-one to provide individualized support in areas where they need extra help. Whether assisting a student in understanding historical themes or guiding them through scientific processes, I focus on building confidence and fostering critical thinking skills. My diverse teaching experience, combined with my passion for helping students succeed, makes me well-qualified to tutor high school Science and History.
