With over sixteen years of professional experience in public and charter school systems, my life’s work has been centered on unlocking curiosity and building confidence in students. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, a Master’s degree in Teaching, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Throughout my career as a classroom specialist teacher and a district-level STEM Director, I have worked with a diverse range of learners, from elementary school students discovering the basics of robotics to high schoolers navigating advanced scientific concepts. This extensive background in the school system gives me a deep understanding of standard curricula, regional benchmarks, and exactly where students tend to encounter learning roadblocks.

My tutoring approach is grounded, personalized, and highly responsive to each student's unique learning style. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all pedagogy; instead, I use a diagnostic method to pinpoint exactly where a student’s understanding is breaking down. Whether working one-on-one or with small groups, I focus on breaking down complex science and math concepts into intuitive, manageable pieces. By combining structured checklist discipline with clear, varied explanations, I help students bridge the gap between confusion and mastery. My goal is to foster a supportive, distraction-free environment where mistakes are viewed as essential data points on the path to success.

I am deeply committed to helping students re-engage after setbacks, gain confidence through meaningful feedback, and own their academic progress. I understand how overwhelming it can be for a student to feel left behind, and I pride myself on being a consistent, believing educator who helps them realize their full potential. I look forward to partnering with your family to provide the high-quality, targeted support your student needs to master their material, build lasting academic resilience, and achieve their goals.

Approved Subjects

Common Core

Common Core

I have spent over sixteen years working directly with Common Core and state-aligned standard curricula. In my career as a classroom teacher and system-wide STEM Director, I have specialized in vertically aligning math and science standards across multiple grade levels to ensure smooth student transitions and mastery. I am highly practiced at diagnosing specific learning gaps against these core benchmarks and designing targeted, personalized interventions to help students achieve proficiency. My extensive background allows me to break down standard-specific expectations clearly for students of all learning styles.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I am a certified professional educator holding two Master’s degrees and serving as a K-12 STEM Director. My background includes years of direct classroom experience teaching elementary school mathematics in public schools, specifically fifth-grade math. In addition to teaching elementary students directly, my administrative role involves overseeing, aligning, and designing math curricula across multiple campuses. This combination of classroom experience and high-level curriculum oversight allows me to deeply understand foundational mathematical standards. I know exactly how to diagnose gaps in a student's numerical reasoning, break down complex concepts into engaging steps, and build genuine mathematical confidence in young learners.
GED

GED

As a professional educator holding a Master’s degree in Education and currently serving as a K-12 STEM Director, I am uniquely equipped to prepare students for all four sections of the GED exam (Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning Through Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies). My extensive background in curriculum design, vertical alignment, and direct classroom teaching allows me to break down complex high school equivalency concepts into clear, digestible steps. I bring specialized expertise to each core subject: - Language Arts & Social Studies: I am trained in the Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy instruction through the University of Florida Lastinger Center’s Flamingo Literacy Matrix. I provide students with explicit strategies for advanced reading comprehension, text-based analytical arguments, and efficient passage mapping. - Mathematical Reasoning & Science: Leveraging my STEM background, I teach students the core algebraic thinking, data analysis, and quantitative problem-solving skills required to navigate both the math and science modules confidently. I approach GED test preparation through targeted diagnostic evaluation—identifying a student's exact structural gaps, teaching high-yield elimination strategies for multiple-choice questions, and building the pacing skills necessary to beat the clock. Whether a student is looking to pass a single subtest or needs a comprehensive plan to conquer all four, I offer a highly structured, patient, and results-oriented environment tailored to adult and high school learners alike.
GRE

GRE

As a professional educator holding two Master’s degrees and serving as a K-12 STEM Director, I provide highly structured, strategy-focused preparation for both the Quantitative and Verbal sections of the GRE. Having personally excelled on the GRE to secure my own graduate school admissions, I know exactly what it takes to beat the exam's unique frameworks and time constraints. My background allows me to teach the GRE through a highly analytical, rule-based approach: - Quantitative Reasoning: Leveraging my background managing mathematics curricula, I help students master the algebra, geometry, and data analysis concepts tested on the GRE, focusing heavily on quantitative comparison strategies and pacing. - Verbal Reasoning: Trained in the Science of Reading through the University of Florida Lastinger Center’s Flamingo Literacy Matrix, I teach the Verbal section like a logic puzzle—showing students how to identify semantic "pivots" in Sentence Equivalence and map dense passages quickly. I focus on targeted error analysis to isolate a student's exact structural gaps, providing a data-driven and encouraging environment tailored to help students hit their target scores for graduate admissions.
Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word

I am a Microsoft Office power user with over 25 years of daily, professional experience utilizing the software suite. Additionally, I bring a strong background as an educator who has taught practical technology skills as a dedicated class in public schools and designed and led professional technology trainings for school staff. Because of this background, I know exactly how to strip away confusing technical jargon and break down workflows into clear, manageable steps for students of all skill levels. Whether you are an absolute beginner learning to navigate the interface or someone looking to master advanced document formatting, I offer a highly patient, hands-on, and results-oriented approach tailored entirely to your goals.
Reading

Reading

As a professional educator holding a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University, I have extensive classroom experience teaching literacy and reading strategies across grade levels.  To deepen my impact, I completed specialized, evidence-based training through the University of Florida's Flamingo Literacy Matrix certification pathway. This comprehensive training focuses heavily on the science of reading, equipping me with explicit, data-driven strategies to target both foundational reading skills and deep reading comprehension.
