Bio

Hi, I'm Maddie! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education in May of 2019, and completed my Master's degree in education in May of 2022. I have over 5 years of teaching experience in Kindergarten and First grade. While teaching, I have also completed LETRS, science of reading training and am now a LETRS certified teacher.

Each student has different learning needs and learning styles and reaching every student using a variety of techniques is a goal I am excited to meet.

Previous tutoring experiences include working one on one with a student who needs extra help in reading or math and figuring out where they are. I then focus on the skills they need extra help with and provide mini lessons, practice opportunities, and multiple strategies to solve what they are working on.

I graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Elementary Education in May 2019. While in college, I took multiple teaching reading courses and worked with multiple students in reading fluency and reading comprehension. Since graduating, I have been a long term substitute in second grade and taught English in Malaysia.
