I started teaching Math in 2007 at COPE South in Miami, FL after graduating with my education degree from FIU. From there, I taught throughout South Florida, including several schools in Broward and Palm Beach counties. I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB, BC, and AP Statistics. Throughout this time I have also maintained a tutoring business, serving clients taking anywhere from elementary math up to and including Discrete Math, Calculus 3, and graduate-level Statistics. I also do test prep for SAT, ACT, ASVAB, and GRE.
My teaching philosophy centers around helping the student to learn the material through discovery, interactive multimedia, and a constant assessment process. Most importantly, I get results. I get results because I'm a teacher as opposed to some overzealous engineering student who simply teaches the material 'at' you. And, the success my students enjoy carries forward for years, meaning they bring the confidence I help them find well into the coming years.
I take you from being someone who's "not a math person" and help yo find mathematical literacy on a level you never thought possible.
