Hello! My name is Meriem. I graduated from Michigan State University in 2016, where I studied Hospitality Business and Arabic, two of my passions.
I am an avid traveler, I've been to 16 countries and counting, and I love meeting people from different parts of the world and from different cultures.
I am half Algerian, so I grew up learning bits and pieces of Arabic at home--although not too much. When I began college, I decided I really wanted to learn Arabic and learned it properly. I studied Arabic throughout college and minored in it. About two years after graduation, I spent five months in Morocco volunteering teaching Moroccan students English and participating in an intensive Arabic study program myself. This opportunity helped me fine-tune my standard Arabic in the classroom and learn the Moroccan "Darija" Arabic outside of the classroom.
