Hi there! I’m a retired insurance company actuarial director, and current real estate broker/mortgage loan originator/insurance guy. I just love algebra. Don’t know why or how, just have a flair for it, doing it, and teaching it.

In my first career it was by far the most useful math of them all (calculus a distant second).

I’m an honors graduate of Dartmouth and have an MBA in finance and accounting from Cornell. I know numbers and have a personality too! There’s a very old joke that says an actuary (or actuarial director) is like an accountant with a personality. Well you be the judge!

I’ve been tutoring people in math and financial topics for just about as long as I can remember. I have done it in my family with siblings, and with older relatives returning to school after long absences. I’ve done it while a student, in high school, college and grad school. I’ve always believed that knowledge is something to be shared, and I really enjoy helping people.

If you’re struggling, if you don’t think you’ll “get it”, if you’re discouraged… I’ve been there in my life. Maybe not in math, but in other areas. I always believed there was something else I could do, something else I could try, a master key for a lock that didn’t seem to want to open.

Maybe you understand what I mean. If you do, I think we could work well together, as a team, to tackle what might seem like a Monster. Because I’ve learned that most monsters are pretty easy to tame :)
