I am passionate about learning and helping others learn. I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a focus on marine and microbiology. I graduated from Axon education’s emergency medical technician program and obtained my National Registry EMT certification. Currently, I am working towards obtaining a Bachelor/Masters Degree in Nursing. In college, I realized the classes I appreciated most weren't necessarily the topics I was most interested in. Rather, it was the professors who made the classes enjoyable. These professors were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching the material in the classroom, and willing and eager to help me when I asked for additional help or clarification. I try to bring this knowledge to my tutoring approach, and do everything. I try to make learning a pleasant and fun experience. I use lesson plans in which I usually introduce the topic in a fun and creative way, then explicitly teach the material. Afterwards I always ensure time for students to practice the material on their own. Of course, this method can be adjusted based on the subject and student's individual needs. I have a year tutoring experience in various subjects at various education levels from elementary school to college. I have worked directly in one on one sessions with students who needed additional assistance, but have also led sessions with groups of 5-10 students while I worked as a Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader. I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible, therefore, I welcome any resources or suggestions students or parents can provide. I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses, and have many scheduling options such as evening, night and weekend tutoring to help students with complicated work/school schedules.
