I'm an experienced educator, teaching since 2007. I have a PhD in linguistics, (study of languages & how our brain processes languages) and Cognitive Science. I have M.A.s in Linguistics and a B.A. in English Literature. I have taught all levels (elementary through university), teaching at Syracuse University and University of Arizona, in addition to having taught at a a super science high school & English program high school in Japan.
In addition to teaching ESOL, Persian, and writing courses, I create homeschooling curriculum for elementary,middle and high school and guide their learning journey. I also tutor and assist with psychology (university level) & math (K-12).
I have seen great success in teaching through combining a variety of teaching methods with individual learning styles to engage students' interests and help them retain and apply information independently. I have experience working with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and autism spectrum, and currently also locally tutor as an academic language therapist.
