I am a professionally certified educator in the aviation sector, holding a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University. My technical expertise is validated by a suite of FAA certifications, including Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI), and Instrument Ground Instructor (IGI). Additionally, I hold Commercial Single-Engine and Multi-Engine Land (ASEL/AMEL) certificates with an instrument rating, as well as a Part 107 sUAS authorization. This combination of collegiate education and rigorous federal certification ensures that I provide instruction that is both academically sound and compliant with the highest industry standards. My instructional approach is rooted in the 'Fundamentals of Instructing,' focusing on the laws of learning—specifically readiness, exercise, and effect. I have extensive experience providing one-on-one ground instruction and group classroom briefings. My primary method involves a 'systems-first' approach, where I utilize technical diagrams and scenario-based training to ensure students don't just memorize facts but truly understand the 'why' behind complex concepts like C172 electrical grids or IFR procedures. I prioritize the use of high-fidelity visual aids and technical schematics to cater to various learning styles, ensuring students are over-prepared for both their written exams and their practical checkrides. For the past several years, I have taught in diverse environments ranging from formal flight school classrooms to intensive one-on-one private sessions. My students have included teenagers pursuing their first solo flight, collegiate students at Eastern Kentucky University, and adult learners transitioning into professional aviation careers.
